Hope everyone is keeping well and adapting to new freedoms, not long now until the 17th May and further easing of restrictions. Have to say I have mixed feelings, cant wait to get back into the pub and to meet friends but must say I’ve quite enjoyed being out and about in my locality with very few people around. Cornwall is already getting busy and by all accounts will be packed up and fully booked very soon.

I think I have managed to get out and about and take pictures most days, be it coast path walks with my pal Chris or evening excursions to the local Moors so my stock of photographs continue to grow and you can view most of my favourites on my instagram account @Bigsavi1

If you see something in these photographs that you like I would be more than willing to source prints or greeting cards and negotiate a reasonable price. I hope to add a page to the shop soon which can show some of these fantastic images here on the website.

Something I have been trying to do lately is take photographs on fully manual setting and this has certainly enabled me to get better results. In the past I have tended to set both aperture and speed but left the ISO to auto. However, I am aware that for better quality in the print its often a good idea to try get a shot with an ISO of 100 or less and this has made a difference in certain circumstances. The other thing I have added is the use of filters, particularly for seascapes and flowing water but also in woodland shots and again it has made a difference.

I now have a supply of excellent business cards thanks to my friends at minutemanpress and I will be making my way around shops and cafes in the coming weeks to spread the word now that these venues are opening. If you would like a supply of cards to share with friends please let me know. If you have made a purchase from me then again please give me a review on instagram, facebook or twitter or send me a quote and I will put it on the website.

If you have any feedback you would like to share or any articles or subjects you would like me to cover in future blogs again let me know.
